The Meaning of Ittifaq
اتفاق
It·ti·faq
noun · unity · agreement · togetherness
A flock that rises together.
Ittifaq means unity in Arabic and Urdu.
It was also the name of Pervez Mirza's late father's business, the Ittifaq Hardware Store in Kharian, Pakistan, a local institution built on hard work, community, and togetherness.
In 1984, Pervez carried that word onto the field and founded the club.
As family and players moved abroad, the club fell quiet.
Four decades later, in September 2024, Ittifaq was revived in the United Kingdom with a charity match against Fives CC at Enfield, in aid of the Imran Khan Cancer Appeal.
That match opened a new chapter, and the club completed its first full season in 2025.
Now a community club rooted in Hornchurch and Romford, Ittifaq reached the ADC T10 final in May 2025 and has facilitated charity matches, including one against Oxford University Cricket Club.
The founding values hold: unity, charity, and community, with cricket the thread that brings people together.
